The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) constructed it in 1936 while stationed in the park. They built it of native materials, and a CCC blacksmith fabricated the iron hinges, light fixtures, and the other hardware. It was one of the finest examples of a CCC building in the State Park system. Originally this building was calledthe Warden’s Office, but was later renamed the Park Headquarters. It was only just recently (2015) placed on the National Register of Historic Places.(Contributed — Capitola Historical Museum)
